In addition to numerical scores,
the Board will indicate grades in the marks sheets issued to the
candidates in case of subjects of external examinations. In case of
internal assessment, only grades will be shown.

Letter grades on a nine-point
scale will be used.

The grades will be derived from
scores in case of subjects of external examination. In case of subject
of internal assessment, they will be awarded by the Schools on a
nine-point scale and reported to the Board.

The passing marks in such
subject of examination will be 33%.

For awarding the grades, the
Board will put al the passed students in a rank order and will award
grades.

The method will be used in
subjects where the number of candidates who have passed is more than
500.
|

In case of ties, all the
students getting the same score will get the same grade. If the number
of students at a score point need to be divided into two segments, the
smaller segment will go with the larger.

In respect of subjects like
languages and other subjects, where total number of candidates passing
in a subject is less than 500, the grading would be adopted keeping in
view the pattern of grading and distribution in other similar subjects.
